Training Opportunities

Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study. As an apprentice you'll:

  • work alongside experienced staff
  • gain job-specific skills
  • earn a wage
  • study towards a related qualification (usually one day a week)

As an employer you'll:

  • receive advice on the right apprenticeships for your business
  • get help with recruiting apprenticeship candidates for your business
  • receive support whether you are a Levy payer or not
  • receive support to use the online Apprenticeship Service

Apprenticeships take 1 to 4 years to complete depending on their level.

An apprenticeship has an equivalent education level and can be:

  • Level 2 – equivalent to 5 GCSE passes
  • Level 3 – equivalent to 2 A level passes
  • Higher – can lead to NVQ Level 4 and above including degree and postgraduate
